UTAH MULTI-TIERED SYSTEM OF SUPPORTS
UMTSS is a set of activities designed to support the implementation of a data-driven, problem-solving model within a multi-tiered delivery system. It is a continuous-improvement model in which problem solving and evidence-based decision-making occurs in an ongoing way and across multiple levels of the educational system.
The focus of our MTSS efforts are to develop School-based Leadership Teams (SLT’s) that have the capacity to hold effective team meetings. Effective SLT meetings include using the problem solving model with the use of both academic and behavioral data. The teams implement these practices to support the school’s 90 Day Action Plan. The 90 Day plan should emphasize the following components:
· Data driven instruction
· observation and feedback
· Student culture
· Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports (PBIS)
